Ghanaian comedian, OB Amponsah
Ghanaian comedian, OB Amponsah, has emerged as the 2025 Ultimate Comic Challenge champion, clinching victory at The Idiot Box Comedy Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The contest’s final showdown featured some of the region’s sharpest comedic talents, with OB topping the leaderboard, followed by runner-up Seth Payne and third-place finisher Jay Stadler.
Celebrating his victory in a Facebook post, OB exclaimed, “Holy smokes! We won gold! God is good! I am the Ultimate Comic. Can you believe that? Damnnn!” He described the achievement as “surreal” and said he was “beyond ecstatic.”
He extended heartfelt thanks to the event organizers, his fellow comics, and the Greensboro audience for their warmth, reserving special praise for club owner Jennie Stencel for her constant encouragement.
OB also reflected on the privilege of sharing the stage with fellow finalists Seth, Troy, Artsy, Ethan, and Jay Stadler, noting the competition would forever stand as a cherished highlight in his comedy career.
