Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a deal that could rise to £52 million, with an initial fee believed to be around £48 million.

The 23-year-old winger, born in north London, becomes the Gunners’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard as part of a summer spending spree that has now surpassed £100 million.

Madueke has agreed a five-year contract and is seen as a major boost to Mikel Arteta’s attacking options as Arsenal prepare for a fresh Premier League title push.

Sporting director Andrea Berta led negotiations with Chelsea, while Arteta is said to have played a key role in convincing Madueke to make the switch across London.

Arsenal had tracked the winger for years, impressed by his ability to beat defenders one-on-one and his strong injury record.

The England international played a vital role for Chelsea last season, helping Enzo Maresca’s side secure a top-four finish, win the UEFA Conference League, and lift the Club World Cup, though he left the squad on the eve of the final to undergo his Arsenal medical.

Due to his summer Club World Cup commitments, Madueke is owed time off and will link up with his new teammates in August 2025, after Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia. He will wear the number 20 shirt.
