The Public Relations Officer of Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa, has stated that their camp has no issue with MC Portfolio supporting King Paluta for this year’s ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at the forthcoming TGMAs.
She made these statements while urging MC Portfolio to stop spreading false allegations on social media about Stonebwoy’s fans allegedly attacking him for backing King Paluta.
She said MC Portfolio should desist from portraying Stonebwoy as intolerant, adding that his rants make him come across in that light.
“We don’t have any problem with MC Portfolio if he decides to do the Oseikrom agenda this year. But to go sit on DJ Slim’s podcast and make it seem like Stonebwoy is intolerant is wrong. We haven’t even discussed this, and your name hasn’t even come up. Stonebwoy acknowledged your help and efforts last year. He told the world how you helped him win the Artiste of the Year,” she said.
Vida Adutwumwaa further explained that Stonebwoy’s camp hasn’t signed any loyalty contract with MC Portfolio, so he is free to support any artiste he chooses.
According to her, Stonebwoy’s team will continue to thrive, regardless of MC Portfolio’s support.
“Moreover, we didn’t sign any loyalty contract that says if Stonebwoy does something wrong, you can’t criticise him. He accepts criticism, which is why he has surrounded himself with a range of teams. So, you can’t sit there and create a narrative that we’re at odds. We don’t have a problem because the brand speaks for itself. If his loyalty lies with King Paluta, that’s not our concern. Nobody has even whispered about it. If the signs and data prove that Paluta deserves to be where he is now, we don’t have a problem,” she added.
It would be recalled that MC Portfolio, in a discussion on DJ Slim’s podcast, revealed that his public support for King Paluta in the 2025 TGMA “Artiste of the Year” category has caused tensions with some members of Stonebwoy‘s camp.
MC Portfolio mentioned that, saying no other artiste in Ghana had such a consistent reign at the top of the charts in 2024, has led to some backlash from the BHIM Camp.
