In a sensational display of dominance, Noah Lyles has claimed his fourth consecutive World Athletics Championship title in the Men’s 200m, reinforcing his status as a sprinting powerhouse.

The final took place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Lyles crossed the line in 19.52 seconds, holding off strong competition as Kenny Bednarek followed with 19.58s, and Jamaica’s Bryan Levell took third with a personal best of 19.64s.

One of the favorites, Botswana’s Olympic champion, Letsile Tebogo, narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing fourth in 19.65s.

This latest triumph adds to an already glittering legacy and matching Usain Bolt’s record of four consecutive world titles.

Lyles first claimed the world crown in 2019 in Doha, clocking 19.83s.

He returned in 2022 to Eugene to defend his title in a blistering 19.31 seconds, then repeated the feat in 2023 in Budapest with another dominant 19.52 seconds.

Now, in 2025 Tokyo, he has secured his fourth gold in a row, a feat rarely seen in sprinting history and one that firmly places him among track’s all-time greats.

Earlier this week, Lyles hinted at his form with a world-leading 19.51s in the semi-finals, a clear warning that he was ready to peak when it mattered most.
