Ghanaian gospel musician Grace Ashly has sparked conversation with her recent comments about the role of finances in marriage.

In a recent interview on Joy Prime, Grace Ashly disclosed that a man’s financial role in the home remains relevant regardless of how much his wife earns.

According to her, a man’s responsibility toward his wife should not be diminished by her financial independence or success.

“No responsible man will tell you that “my wife is earning 100 million so I will not spend on her” she said.

Grace Ashly further explained that while it is important for both partners to contribute to the home, the man must still maintain his duties as the head of the family.

She also encouraged women not to weaponize their financial success in relationships, urging both parties to remain humble and supportive of each other.

“My late husband used to say that he wouldn’t have married me if he wasn’t capable of taking care of me. He doesn’t want to see any money around me so if you’re a woman whose mind is clear and you’re not greedy, you will make sure you spend any money that you have with the family and you don’t have to hide to do anything” she added.
