Media personality, Bridget Otoo, has criticised the minority caucus in Parliament after they organised a press conference disputing some statements made by President John Dramani Mahama during his 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA).

In an X post on February 27, 2025, Bridget Otoo stated that the minority’s ‘staged’ press conference was solely intended to deceive Ghanaians and reminded them that it would not change the fact that they performed poorly while in power.

She emphasised that the 184 NDC seats in parliament are a testament to the poor performance of the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

“I listened to the micro minority rumble on about handing over a ‘restored’ economy to the NDC. The true state of the economy is in the 184 seats the Majority has; the real state of affairs is in the 38% they had in the election.

“The true state of affairs is in the 1.7 million gap they received. No press conference revisionism will change that!” she said.

Bridget Otoo further praised President John Dramani Mahama for what she described as his apt and direct speech during the 2025 SONA.

“I liked @JDMahama SONA, direct… no sugar coating,” she added.

    Background

The Minority MPs in Parliament, following President Mahama’s SONA, held a press conference to present thier “True State of the Nation Address.”

Stephen Amoah, the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, on behalf of the caucus, claimed that in less than 100 days in office, Mahama’s government had committed various “atrocities,” including mass violations of the human rights of Ghanaians and uncertainties regarding the direction of the economy.
