Deputy Chief of Staff, Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, has issued a strong reminder to bloggers and media personnel to conduct themselves with the utmost decorum during the State Funeral for victims of the Wednesday, August 6, helicopter crash.

The solemn ceremony will take place at the Black Star Square in Accra from 7:30 am.

Briefing the media at the Black Star Square on Thursday, August 14, Stan Dogbe explained that, as in previous state events, the live feed for the programme will be centralised to ensure order and uniform coverage.

He advised media outlets to either connect directly to the outdoor broadcast van or take the clean feed via the DTH decoder for transmission to their audiences.

He cautioned against what he described as the unprofessional practice of “phone-chasing,” where photographers, bloggers, or journalists pursue mourners with mobile phones or monopods for pictures or videos.

According to him, such behaviour is disruptive to the dignity of the occasion and will not be tolerated.

“We do not want to see anybody holding a phone or a monopod and struggling to chase mourners as they come in to sit down tomorrow. We expect a very high level of decorum and solemnity tomorrow morning,” he said.

He further urged all accredited media personnel to arrive early, check their audio connections, confirm they are receiving the correct television feed, and be fully set before the start of the service.
