Rap Fada says he was battling depression during that point in his life Rap Fada says he was battling depression during that point in his life

Ghanaian musician Rap Fada has shared how he battled depression and suicidal tendencies at a point in his career over his songs not being profitable enough.

The artiste, known for hits like “Style Biaa Bi,” shared in an interview with Bryt TV that at his lowest point, he contemplated suicide after his music stopped gaining traction.

Rap Fada explained that his habit of appearing in just boxer shorts, which sparked ridicule online, was unintentional and was due to his severe mental health struggles.

Akwaboah advised me to stop walking around with only boxers – Rap Fada

He admitted feeling abandoned by the industry during his crisis, with no support system to turn to.

“Walking about in boxers was not intentional; it was something I was dealing with.

“I was actually going through depression. I even wanted to take my life at one point. Because my music wasn’t hitting. I was frustrated. And there was no one to help me out,” he said.

He added that his situation was so dire that he couldn’t even record new songs because he was financially handicapped.

“There was a time I was always home, and I couldn’t go out unless necessary. There was no money. I couldn’t even go to the studio to record songs,” he said.
