Abdul Samad Rabiu watched on as Nigeria defeated Algeria

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received an extraordinary boost of motivation ahead of their 2026 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against Morocco, thanks to a generous pledge from Nigerian business magnate Abdul Samad Rabiu.

The billionaire entrepreneur announced on social media that he will reward the players with $500,000 if they win the semi-final, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in the match.

Rabiu didn’t stop there. Should the Super Eagles go on to lift the trophy in the final, he promises $1,000,000, plus $100,000 for every goal scored in the decisive match.

His announcement comes on the heels of Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Algeria on Saturday, January 10, 2026, a win that saw goals from Victor Osimhen and Adams Akor send the Eagles into the semi-finals with confidence high.
