Founder and Leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel International, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has alleged that he witnessed an offer being made to the running mate of the Ghana Freedom Party to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
According to Prophet Nigel, Phillip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, who has been nominated as the substantive candidate by his party following the recent death of their flagbearer, Madam Akua Donkor, was with him in the final processes of filing his nomination when the alleged call and offer came.
“Roman Fada was sitting right in front of me, a big call came via… [that] he should come for BIG MONEY,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday, 6 November 2024.
Prophet Nigel, who expressed happiness over Roman’s eventual decision to file his nomination, took the opportunity to help him understand the need to choose the interest of the nation over the financial offer.
“I am glad I did the little I can. Congratulations in advance on your nomination, Sir. Thanks for choosing Ghana, not money! Thanks for your loyalty over the years, Sir,” he wrote in his post, which he shared alongside pictures of himself and Roman Fada.
Akua Donkor, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, died on October 28, 2024, at the age of 72 following a brief illness.
The Electoral Commission, following her death, announced a halt to the printing of presidential ballots for the December 7 election and announced a 10-day window for the party to nominate a new candidate.
Her running mate successfully filed his nomination as the new flagbearer on Tuesday, following an endorsement by the leadership of the GFP.
