The alleged rape victim of ex-premier Annastacia Palaszczuk‘s wealthy surgeon partner is a young health professional working in south-east Queensland.
Weight-loss specialist Dr Reza Adib, 65, avoided court on Thursday and was excused from appearing at Southport Magistrates Court either in person or by videolink.
He faces three counts of rape, two charges of unlawful detention and a charge of sexual assault after an alleged attack at his $7million Gold Coast beachside unit on March 30.
The charge sheet also alleges Adib ‘unlawfully and indecently assaulted [the alleged victim], bringing into contact part of [her] genitalia with the mouth of [the accused]’.
The Daily Mail can reveal the alleged victim is almost half Adib’s age and works in the medical industry.
She is among a lengthy list of ten people Adib is prohibited from contacting under the terms of his bail conditions, including people known to the alleged victim.
The strict order prevents Adib from ‘contacting or communicating, or attempting to contact or communicate directly or indirectly’.
The non-contact requirements include meeting, speaking, calling by phone, texting or contact via social media or letter.

Adib is next due to appear in court on July 7, with the court ordering a police brief of evidence to be prepared by June 23.

The charges came in the middle of a promotional tour for Palaszczuk’s new biography, The Politics of Being Me, which was abandoned two days later.
She has often been seen staying with Adib at the home where the alleged rape took place, but has not publicly addressed the charges since his arrest.
The elite doctor is renowned for his weight-loss surgery clinic at Brisbane‘s private Wesley Hospital, and has been Palaszczuk’s partner since they first met five years ago.
Insiders have told the Daily Mail that Palaszczuk is now ‘re-evaluating the relationship’, and is leaning on close family and friends for support.

Adib’s lawyer said the specialist was in ‘shock’ at the charges.
‘Like all persons accused of a crime, he is presumed to be innocent and intends to vigorously defend the charges,’ his lawyer Dan Rogers said.
Ms Palaszczuk has been in a relationship with Dr Adib since they met during her premiership.
Adib – whose full name is Vahid Reza Adib – met the then-premier at the Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm Racecourse in Brisbane in 2021.
He is said to have performed more than 10,000 weight-loss surgery procedures since starting as a trainee in Brisbane in 1994.
He has a substantial real estate portfolio, with land records showing he or his companies acquired properties worth $42million in south-east Queensland, including a riverside home and beachside apartment, a roadside shopping strip that has medical tenants, and office space.
Following the charges, UnitingCare has since confirmed that Adib is no longer an accredited surgeon at its Wesley Hospital in Brisbane.
