Ghanaian rapper Medikal has become the centre of attention after making a tweet online referring to most Ghanaians as lazy.
In a post shared on X on April 7, 2025, Medikal stated that some Ghanaians, especially the youth, are lazy and have refused to find ways of making a living.
He emphasised that instead of working to achieve something meaningful in life, such individuals are jealous of hardworking people.
“Most Ghanaians are lazy, so they hate hardworking people for no reason. Lol,” he wrote.
The tweet has sparked mixed reactions, with some social media users expressing displeasure over the rapper’s statement.
While some netizens have thrown their support behind him, others have heavily criticised him.
The critics have also revived rumours that Medikal is involved in “fraud,” adding that if it weren’t for fraudulent money, he wouldn’t be financially comfortable enough to label others, who aren’t as fortunate as him, as lazy.

You are condemning the same people of being lazy but when the same group of people condemn you for being lazy, you start insulting. Typical Ghanaian attitude. When you cherished the people, the people will cherish you, not the other way around.

Don’t call your brothers lazy just because you are fortunate
