US-based striker Kelvin Kwarteng Yeboah, who is a nephew of Ghana great Anthony Yeboah, has declared himself available for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Minnesota United striker, who has previously been capped by European powerhouse Italy at U21 level, has hit a rich vein of form in this season’s Major League Soccer by bagging 7 goals in 11 league games.
Yeboah, 26, was born in Ghana to a sister of the former Leeds United and Frankfurt striker who is undoubtedly one of Africa’s greatest goal-scorers.
While goal-scoring has become a perennial problem for the West African powerhouse, Yeboah availability and incredible poacher’s instinct could come in handy as new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz sets his sights firmly on ringing positive changes in the side.
The 6ft-tall striker has had spells in the Austrian Bundesliga Sturm Graz where he made massive scoring impact before switching to the Serie A where he featured for Genoa moving on loan to Augsburg in Germany.
According to Ghana Sports Publication sources, the striker has declared his availability to fully commit his international future to Ghana after a close consultation with his uncle who is a household name in Ghana after scoring memorable goals in the colours of the Black Stars.
Ghana is set to face England, Croatia and Panama at the 2026 FIFA World Cup which takes place in the USA, Canada and Mexico next month.
