The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Sanja Nanja, has retained his seat.

Sanja Nanja fought off competition from Baduon Dimmie Issah Abu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Hennaa Kwaku Abraham of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

Sanja Nanja, who will be going to Parliament for the third time, garnered 25,758 votes, followed by Baduon Dimmie Issah Abu with 18,977 votes and Hennaa Kwaku Abraham with 299 votes.

Following the win, supporters of the NDC in the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency took to some of the principal streets in Atebubu in wild jubilation.

Meanwhile, Vice-President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, officially conceded defeat to his main opponent, John Dramani Mahama, in Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Election.

Dr. Bawumia made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday, December 8, 2024, emphasizing that his decision to concede defeat was motivated by the need to reduce tension and preserve national peace.

He promised that his government would ensure a smooth transition of power to John Mahama and is available to help when the need arises.
