The National Democratic Congress is speaking to Ghanaians on developments from the 2024 general elections so far.

The party is expected to win the presidential and parliamentary elections, with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party conceding defeat in the presidential race.

In the parliamentary elections, all signs point to a two-thirds majority win for the NDC, with the party polling impressive numbers in the December 7 elections.

The collation of the parliamentary results has witnessed numerous challenges across the country as both the NPP and NDC strive to win as many seats as possible.

Some of the areas in contention are Damongo, Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano South, Dome-Kwabenya, among others.

The NPP, in a press conference on Sunday, December 8, 2024, disclosed that it will defend and protect the parliamentary seats that it has won.

The NDC is also targeting at least 180 parliamentary seats, with the party convinced that 180 is a conservative projection.

Sammy Gyamfi, the Communications Officer of the NDC, is expected to update Ghanaians on the party’s assessment of events so far.
