Defending champions Ghana have been drawn against Guinea, Tanzania and Burkina Faso in the girls’ category of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, as they prepare to defend their title in the 2026 edition.

The Black Damsels head into the tournament with confidence after securing a 2-0 victory over Uganda in last year’s final on home soil to clinch the fourth edition of the competition. They will be aiming to replicate that success when the tournament kicks off in Zimbabwe from April 6 to 10.

In the girls’ competition, Ghana headline Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Tanzania and Guinea, while hosts Zimbabwe are in Group B with Morocco, Zambia and DR Congo. The boys’ category will also feature strong competition, with Zimbabwe, Uganda, Morocco and DR Congo in Group A, while Tanzania, Zambia, Senegal and Benin make up Group B.

The stakes remain high, with winners in both the boys’ and girls’ categories set to receive $300,000 in prize money. Runners-up will earn $200,000, while third-place finishers will take home $150,000.

Ghana will be keen to maintain their dominance and once again emerge as champions on the continental stage.
