The Majority Chief Whip, Nelson Rockson Dafeamekpor, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prepare for the re-run of the Kpandai Parliamentary election, stating that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has already hit the ground campaigning in the constituency.
Addressing journalists in Parliament on November 28, 2025, Dafeamekpor rejected the Minority’s claims about the court ruling on the Kpandai seat. He said the NPP should pay attention to the real contest ahead instead of “peddling falsehood.”
He explained that although Speaker Alban Bagbin has granted the incumbent MP, Matthew Nyindam, a seven-day window to seek a stay of execution, the NDC is treating the situation as a clear signal to intensify its work on the ground.

“We are here to set the record straight that they lost the matter, and they are dazed. The battleground is in Kpandai, not in the foyer of Parliament. The job is on the ground. We, the NDC, are on the ground. We are working,” he said.
Dafeamekpor insisted the party has already begun active campaigning and accused the NPP of staying in Accra instead of preparing for the re-run.
“As we speak, the NDC is working. We are in Kpandai. We are campaigning. They won’t come and campaign, and when they lose, they blame innocent people,” he added.
The re-run stems from a legal challenge to the 2024 parliamentary results in Kpandai, which both parties have disputed for months. Although the Speaker’s directive temporarily paused the enforcement of the High Court’s decision, the Majority maintains that the political reality on the ground has not changed.
