The President of the Nigeria Boxing Federation, Wale Edun, has held talks with the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, on strengthening collaboration to develop amateur boxing across West Africa.

The meeting focused on fostering mutual cooperation between Ghana and Nigeria through strategic sporting initiatives aimed at promoting and improving amateur boxing in the sub-region.

Edun, who previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, emphasized the importance of regional partnerships in creating opportunities for young boxing talents and enhancing the standard of the sport in Africa.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah welcomed the discussions, highlighting the need for stronger ties between neighbouring countries to drive sports development and talent growth.
