National Security Operatives in the Ashanti Region have intercepted seven trucks suspected of being used to divert goods and evade tax payments.

Details indicate that drivers transporting goods from the Tema Port claimed to be heading to Burkina Faso, but instead unloaded the goods in Kumasi.

The trucks were intercepted at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region and escorted to Kumasi for further investigation.

Collaborative efforts between National Security and Customs officers led to the successful escort of the trucks to Kumasi.

Officials are now working to identify the owners of the goods.

Customs officers have taken custody of the impounded trucks, paving the way for further action.
