Ghana defender Nathaniel Adjei says the Black Stars are fully prepared for the challenge ahead of Friday’s international friendly against Mexico in Puebla.

The 23-year-old defender is among the 22 players currently in camp as preparations continue for the important pre-World Cup encounter.

Speaking ahead of the game, the FC Lorient centre-back acknowledged the quality of the Mexican side but insisted Ghana are ready for the test.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game because Mexico are a very good side, but we are also prepared and ready for the challenge,” Adjei said.

The defender also praised the atmosphere within the squad as players continue training under head coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The mood in camp is very positive, and everybody is looking forward to the game. These matches help us improve as a team and also prepare for the future,” he added.

Despite struggling with injuries during the season, Adjei still managed 15 appearances in the French Ligue 1 campaign with FC Lorient.

The Black Stars are using the Mexico friendly as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
