Joy and jubilation have returned to Nkoranza after Nana Kwame Baffoe IV was re-sworn in as Omanhene, putting an end to a seven-year chieftaincy dispute.

Nana Kwame Baffoe IV took the oath of office at a large traditional ceremony attended by kingmakers and citizens, ushering in a new age of harmony and progress for the Nkoranza Traditional Area.

The controversy, which began after the death of the late Omanhene, Okatakyi Agyemang Kudom, in 2016, was exacerbated by succession issues.

The initial controversy around Nana Kwame Baffoe IV’s enrollment in 2021, which included opposition from the late queen mother and other kingmakers, caused anger in the community.

However, his gazetting and subsequent adoption by the House of Chiefs have brought the stakeholders together, settling the long-standing conflict.

Nana Kwame Baffoe IV emphasized the significance of reconciliation in his inaugural address, urging his subjects to get past their conflicts.

He promised to concentrate on development and growth, pointing out that the seven-year disagreement had slowed progress in Nkoranza.

“Nkoranza’s development relies heavily on unity. “Let us put aside our differences and work together to bring growth and prosperity to our country,” he said.

Nana Effah Adomako, the Akyemehene of the Nkoranza Traditional Council, applauded the dispute’s resolution and expressed optimism for the area’s future under Nana Kwame Baffoe IV’s leadership.

“This begins a new chapter for Nkoranza, one of stability, togetherness, and growth. We believe that the new Omanhene will resolve the outstanding concerns and lead the region forward,” he remarked.
