Former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been released from the Nsawam Prison after serving eight months in custody.

Her release comes after she completed two-thirds of a revised 12-month sentence, in line with Ghana’s standard remission rules.

Nana Agradaa was initially sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment on July 3, 2025, following her conviction for defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement. However, her legal team appealed the ruling, describing the sentence as excessive.

Upon review, the Amasaman High Court reduced the term to 12 calendar months, noting that the original punishment was harsh under the circumstances.

Following her release, she reunited with her husband and family. Her husband, Asiamah, confirmed her return home in a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 3, stating, “Thank God my wife is finally home.”

The controversial religious figure is also expected to meet with members of her church later in the day for fellowship. The gathering will mark her first public appearance since regaining her freedom.

Nana Agradaa, who transitioned from traditional priestess to Christian evangelist in recent years, remains a polarizing figure in Ghana’s religious and social landscape. Her release is likely to spark renewed public debate, with supporters welcoming her return while critics continue to question her past actions.

Further details about her future plans and ministry activities are yet to be announced.
