Nana Acheampong, a close associate of the late Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has expressed his support ahead of the late musician’s final burial ceremony.
Nana Acheampong, in an Instagram post shared on December 3, 2025, noted that he is in Ghana purposely to participate in Lumba’s final funeral ceremony scheduled for December 13, 2025.
In the caption of the video shared online, he also asked Ghanaians to disregard the controversies surrounding the late Lumba’s funeral and attend the ceremony.
“Touched down last night in the motherland. Let’s come together and celebrate the life of my brother, Daddy Lumba… My condolences once again to the family and loved ones,” he said.

Earlier, after Daddy Lumba’s demise was announced, Nana Acheampong paid tribute to the late musician with a song titled “Due! K. Fosu.”
The 4-minute tribute song talks about how Lumba’s death has shaken the country.
Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba’s journey
The two musicians started their friendship in the 80s.
During their friendship, Nana Acheampong inspired the late musician to make highlife songs, and it was during that time that the “Lumba Brothers” were formed.
After forming the group, the musicians planned to release their first-ever album in 1986; however, due to financial constraints, their plans were ultimately abandoned.

Nana Acheampong released a “soul-stirring” tribute to his “brother” and music “trailblazer” Daddy Lumba.
It was in 1989 that the Lumba Brothers were finally able to release their first album, titled “Υεεγε Aka Akwantuo Mu,” with support from their first wife, Akosua Serwaa.
