Division One League side Na God FC narrowly escaped tragedy on Sunday evening October 19, 2025, when their team bus was involved in a serious accident near Aboasa, a few kilometres from the Adomi Bridge in the Eastern Region.
The incident happened around 6:55 p.m. as the team was returning from Ho after holding Home Stars to a goalless draw in a Zone 3 league encounter. Their bus was reportedly hit from behind by a trailer, causing it to lose control and crash into a nearby coconut plantation.
Club CEO Michael Oduro recounted the frightening moment, saying, “It was a horrible experience. The collision was so strong that some players were thrown off their seats. We are thankful no one died, and everyone is receiving treatment.”
Head coach Moses Kofi and seven others sustained injuries. The severely hurt were rushed to the Juapong Community Clinic, while others were treated at the VRA Hospital in Akosombo.
Residents and passing drivers quickly came to the team’s aid, helping to rescue players from the wreckage. Investigations are underway as the football community sends messages of support and gratitude that no lives were lost.
