Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Mzbel has stirred controversy after openly admitting that she does not hire individuals from the Ga tribe for employment.

During a radio discussion, the 16 Years hitmaker revealed that she typically asks job applicants about their tribal background, and if they identify as Ga, she refuses to offer them the position.

Mzbel justified her stance by citing past experiences with Ga employees, claiming that many of them fail to return to work after their first day.

She alleged that some former employees from the tribe often provided excuses such as attending social events, which she believes demonstrates a lack of dedication and reliability.

While acknowledging that she would ideally like to hire individuals from all backgrounds, the singer maintained that her decision is rooted in frustration over repeated disappointments.

Her remarks have since sparked mixed reactions, with many condemning her stance as discriminatory, while others argue that personal experience could shape hiring preferences.

As discussions about workplace discrimination and tribal biases continue to gain attention in Ghana, Mzbel’s comments are likely to fuel further debate on fair employment practices.
