Ghanaian musician D Cryme has refuted claims that he and his team have disregarded traditional media, insisting that they remain fully engaged with radio and television platforms.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on November 26, 2025, he stressed that traditional media continues to play an important role in the industry.
“My team and I will never go and say that we don’t need traditional media. We are always in tuned with traditional media,” he said.
D Cryme, however, encouraged traditional media to strengthen collaboration with artistes rather than operate with a sense of superiority.

“Traditional media, in as much as we are solid from way back, let’s also find a way to truly get closer to the artistes as well. Gone are the days where we had an upper hand.
“Now, there are other platforms as well and the world is in our palms so yes, traditional media is equally great but guess what? Sometimes we pick stories online from other platforms and talk about them today. That clearly tells you that it’s now in two parts,” he stated.
He noted that the industry must move away from the mindset of “I’m helping you” and approach artistes with a partnership mindset.
“People also equally have that platform. I’m saying this because, I think many at times, we should erase that perception of `I’m helping you’ and let’s start talking about partnershipping,” he added.
