TikToker GH Kobby (L) allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend (R)

The father of popular Ghanaian TikToker Hayford Boateng, widely known as GH Kobby, has made a bold and emotional statement following reports that his son allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend.

As earlier reported by GhanaWeb, the incident resulted in the tragic death of Philipa Frimpong, popularly known as Yaa Baby, in Yeji.

The fatal shooting allegedly occurred shortly after GH Kobby, Yaa Baby, and two others, Kwadwo Emmanuel and Michael Kabutey, were seen sharing a meal.

In a recent development, a video of GH Kobby’s father has gone viral on social media.

In it, he firmly stated that his son should be held accountable for his actions.

The grieving father visited the family home of Yaa Baby to offer his condolences and plead for patience as the community comes to terms with the tragedy.

“We should give thanks to God because He knows what He is doing. Based on what has happened, I plead with all of you to calm down so we can peacefully bury [Yaa Baby]. As for my son, wherever he is right now, it’s good,” he said.

“Yaa Baby didn’t deserve to die, so wherever my son is, he should also stay there. I hope the family will give us the opportunity to be involved in the burial ceremony,” he added.

He further disclosed that efforts to move Yaa Baby’s body from Yeji to Kumasi have been unsuccessful.

“I received a call from Yeji, and I wanted the child’s body to be transferred to Kumasi, but the police investigator says they can’t travel from Kumasi for investigations,” he explained.

Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing, with growing calls for a thorough probe into the events leading up to Yaa Baby’s tragic death.
