Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur D-Black has opened up about his close bond with his children, describing them as his friends.

He highlighted how parenting in this generation differs from his own upbringing.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime’s 4Kidz Paradise on February 22, 2026, D-Black shared insights into how technology has shaped his communication with his children.

“My kids are like my friends. It’s interesting how you guys are so different from us in our generation. I talk to them every day and none of them even messages me on WhatsApp. They’re on my Snapchat, they talk to me on Snapchat,” he said.

The rapper admitted he was surprised to discover the communication gap between platforms.

“It was very surprising to realise that when I text them on WhatsApp, they would reply the next day, but when I text them on Snapchat, they would reply instantly,” he stated.

D-Black also spoke about the evolving relationship between parents and children, especially regarding music and shared interests.

Comparing his experience growing up to his current dynamic with his children, he noted a stark difference.

“It’s very interesting to see how they grow and their career paths. Growing up, I didn’t have a common musician with my mum and dad. My parents and I couldn’t like the same musicians. They would probably like Amakye Dede and I will be talking about Reggie Rockstone,” he explained.

He disclosed that things are different with his own children, especially his daughter.

“Now, my daughter tells me the new music that’s out and I like the songs. I would also tell her the new songs I’ve heard and she would also like the songs so we even go to concerts together. It’s very interesting and fun to be part of their lives,” he added.
