A Nigerian man has shared his shocking experience after waking up to discover that his generator was stolen overnight, or rather, see what was left of it.

The man revealed that he and his household thought the generator was safe because it had been placed on a tyre and secured firmly with a chain.

Unfortunately, thieves still managed to outsmart the setup and cart away the entire engine.

In the video, only the empty frame, fuel tank, the tyre and chain could be seen where the generator was once stationed.

The man admitted that living in his compound is “not for the weak,” as residents are constantly battling with theft despite their best efforts to secure their belongings.

Some social media users advised other ways to secure such household item while some reacted with laughter and shock.
