Veteran Kumawood director Jackson K Bentum has come to the defence of his daughter, singer Yaa Jackson, in a recent interview with Poleeno Multimedia.

Bentum expressed his frustration with the continuous criticism and questions he faces regarding his daughter’s fashion and music choices.

“My child isn’t a two-year-old baby,” he stated, adding, “She’s been living her life since she was 18 years old. So I don’t understand why questions come to me about her dressing.”

Bentum, a well-known figure in the Ghanaian film industry, clarified that Yaa Jackson is an adult with her own management team.

He emphasised that he is no longer responsible for making decisions about her career or personal brand.

“She has management that handles her career. I don’t decide for her. She is old enough to make her own choices,” he stressed.

Yaa Jackson, who began her career as a child actress, has often faced public scrutiny since transitioning into the music industry. Her father’s comments highlight a clear message to critics: he is not the one to question about her life choices.
