Multiple civilians were killed and two police officers were injured when an active shooter opened fire at a downtown Minneapolis apartment building Wednesday afternoon.
One of the officers was shot in the stomach and the other was shot in the leg while responding to a shooting near 15 East Grant Street, KSTP reports.
A law enforcement source also confirmed to the network that multiple civilians were killed in the attack.
Photos from the scene show a massive police presence at the Loring Towers.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz added that his public safety team was also responding to the shooting, and noted that state officials are ‘on the ground to support local law enforcement.’
By 5.30pm, ATF agents, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents all responded to the scene.
