Mulberry handbags are in. But don’t just take my word for it; their sales have risen 18 per cent in the last six months, with their new Stevie bag helping sales rise 10 per cent in the UK alone.
And it’s not just over here that Mulberry handbags are having their moment. Across the pond, their handbag sales were up by an impressive 28 per cent over the last six months.
And recently, it seems, the Princess of Wales has also got the memo. Last week she wore the Mulberry Amberley Satchel to a royal visit in Belfast, the same one she carried during a royal tour of Boston in 2022.
Kate knows that a Mulberry bag suits any occasion, which is likely why she dressed up the brand’s Amberley Satchel in white for Wimbledon a few years ago, but also why she was also seen carrying a bright pink Mulberry hobo bag on a night out way back in 2008.
The princess’s Mulberry collection ranges from chain crossbody bags to larger tote bags.
And she is certainly not alone. Other royals are firm fans of Mulberry bags too. Zara Tindall wore the Amberley clutch for Royal Ascot in both 2025 and 2026, while the Duchess of Sussex wore the small Darley bag in navy to the 2018 Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.
So, satchel up – we’ve found some of Kate’s most recently worn Mulberry bags, along with her outfit details and some high street lookalikes.
Look 1
Just a few days ago, the princess wore Mulberry’s Amberley Satchel in green leather during a royal visit to Belfast.
She paired the bag with an Emilia Wickstead pleated, tartan maxi skirt and ruffled silk blouse from Knatchbull. The handbag not only complimented the royal’s outfit but – in true Kate fashion as the master of diplomatic dressing – its rich green colour paid homage to Ireland.
M&S has a very good lookalike of Kate’s tartan skirt.

If your criteria for a bag is more ‘Mary Poppins’ than it is ‘micro clutch’, then Mulberry’s Baywater Tote might be a little more appropriate for the day-to-day.
And although I can’t promise that this bag will hold a floor length lamp like the one owned by a certain beloved British nanny, it will definitely hold all of your daily essentials from a lunch box to book.
Kate has worn this while on a royal visit to Pontypridd in South Wales in 2025. Since, the bag has aged well (if not at all). It’s timeless and classic, much like the Princess carrying it.
In Wales she paired the bag with a red Alexander McQueen coat and some Gianvito Rossi boots. All in all it was an outfit made up of all of her favourite brands.

While Princess Kate is more than accustomed to matching a bag to an outfit, there’s a certain simplicity that comes with owning a good black handbag (aka it matches any outfit).
The Princess showcased the charm of a black bag earlier this year, carrying the Mulberry’s Small Amberley Crossbody bag to welcome the President of Bola to the UK.
The bag is chic, timeless and adds a welcomed ‘pop of black’ in an otherwise all-grey outfit. She paired the crossbody with a Tolu Coker double-breasted blazer coat, a bespoke Jane Taylor hat, teardrop earrings – a nod to her late mother-in-law Diana and a pair of Boss shoes that have unfortunately been discontinued.
