Wakaso training at the Ajax Park

Mubarak Wakaso has once again sparked speculation about a potential return after sharing a teasing training photo.

The Ghanaian midfielder, known for his robust style of play, was rumored to be moving to Hearts of Oak for the second half of the Ghana Premier League season earlier this year. However, the proposed deal fell through during preliminary negotiations.

The 34-year-old, celebrated for his tireless work ethic, precise passing, and commanding presence on the field, was expected to bring valuable experience to the squad.

Reports suggest that Wakaso remains focused on pursuing opportunities abroad rather than joining the Ghana Premier League.

Since then, he has kept fans guessing about his next move, having previously hinted at a comeback in a similar fashion.

His latest post has reignited excitement, leaving supporters wondering if his return to competitive action is now on the horizon.

The veteran midfielder has struggled with injuries in recent years and has been without a club since January 2024, following his departure from the Chinese side Shenzhen FC due to persistent knee problems. His last competitive appearance was on August 23, 2023.

On the international stage, Wakaso earned 70 caps for Ghana and scored 13 goals for the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions.
