An unlicensed driver allegedly plowed a vehicle into a mother and her two young children as they crossed a parking lot, killing a baby boy and leaving the mother and her five-year-old daughter injured.
Maria CobonGuzman, 20, struck a mother pushing her nine-month-old baby boy and five-year-old daughter in a stroller through the parking lot of kosher grocery store NPGS in Jackson Township, New Jersey at around 11.55am on Friday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office claims.
The mother and her children were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where the little boy, identified by YNet as Yitzhak Rosenberg, was declared dead.
The mother, Golda Chana, and her daughter, Rachel, are still in the hospital in stable condition.
CobonGuzman is now facing charges of manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle without ever having possessed or been issued a valid driver’s license while involved in a fatal motor vehicle crash and two counts of assault by auto.

Prosecutors claim Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, of Toms River, knew CobonGuzman did not have a valid driver’s license in New Jersey or any other state, but let her drive anyway
The tragedy occurred in the parking lot of kosher grocery store NPGS in Jackson Township, New Jersey
Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, of Toms River, was also charged in the tragedy as authorities claim she knew CobonGuzman never had a valid driver’s license in New Jersey or in any other state but still let her drive a Ford Fusion.
She is facing charges of knowingly engaging in conduct creating a substantial risk of death to another.
Both CobonGuzman and Lazaro-Flores were taken into custody at the scene and remain in Ocean County Jail where they are awaiting a detention hearing.
In the meantime, the crash remains under investigation.
