The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has inaugurated its Ministerial Advisory Board in a move aimed at enhancing policy direction and fostering stronger stakeholder collaboration within the sector.

The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, was presided over by the Minister, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

In her address, the minister highlighted the board’s statutory mandate under Sections 39 and 40 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (Act 327), and underscored the importance of aligning the ministry’s operations with sound legal and policy frameworks.

Gomashie praised the diverse expertise of the newly appointed board members and emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive and collaborative governance.

“Our Ministry oversees 13 agencies, and we must ensure decisions are rooted in legal frameworks to move forward with unity and purpose,” she said.

As part of ongoing structural reforms, the minister announced key appointments to reinforce leadership across the Ministry’s core divisions.

Divine Owusu Ansah has been appointed as Director for Culture, while Dr Tamakloe will serve as Director for Tourism.

A new Director for Creative Arts is expected to be appointed soon to complete the leadership structure.

Chief Director of the Ministry, Joseph Kwasi Amoah, who opened the event, welcomed the board members and acknowledged the delay in convening the board, citing logistical and administrative challenges.

He expressed appreciation for the members’ patience and affirmed that the Ministry is now in a strong position to move forward.

“The absence of the board meant we were missing out on critical guidance. We are grateful for your commitment, and we are ready to work together,” he said.

The event concluded with the official administration of the oath of office by Dzifa Gomashie, who formally declared the board inaugurated.

She expressed confidence in the board’s ability to contribute meaningfully to national development through the advancement of Tourism, Culture, and the Creative Arts.

The board includes representatives from various government ministries and industry organisation, including Yussif Issaka Jajah, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts; Joseph Kwasi Amoah, Chief Director of MoTCCA; Comfort Aki Dede Ashiagbor from the Ministry of Education; Noah Tumfo from the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry; Richard Gyasi from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development; Kwasi Adu from the Ministry of Finance; Ahuma Bosco Ocansey of the Ghana Culture Forum; Dr Kwasi Eyison of the Ghana Tourism Federation; and Naa Juyoo Oshedu Woblor Jueteer Tsofayelor, a renowned cultural advocate and queen mother.
