Most People Are Loud, Wrong, And Gullible To Lies – M.anifest Slams Music Business Debates

Debates on Ghana’s music business, sparked by news of artistes selling their catalogs, have drawn sharp criticism from rapper M.anifest, who says the discussions lack depth and accuracy.

On August 19, 2025, M.anifest shared his frustration on X, noting that the problem isn’t just misinformation but the confidence with which people spread it.

“My problem with music business discussions around these parts is that most people are not just misinformed but loud and wrong. We’re gullible to the lies of our faves and skeptical about the truths of those we don’t like. Last last I hope the music is great or at least good,” he wrote.

His remarks came as a reminder that while misinformation spreads quickly, the public often chooses to believe narratives from their favorite artistes while dismissing facts from less popular voices.

Adding his voice to the debate, rapper Kojo Cue quoted M.anifest’s post and broadened the discussion. For him, the tendency to argue without knowledge is not limited to the music industry but reflects a wider societal issue. He compared it to people confidently challenging medical professionals using surface-level information from the internet.

“That is the problem of the market square we find ourselves in and it’s not limited to music alone … I can ChatGPT and argue with a doctor about a C-section right now and be an asshole about it … wild times. Music and marketing is even worse because on the outside it looks so easy to do,” Kojo Cue wrote.

Both rappers suggested that the music industry, like many other sectors, suffers when complex issues are reduced to simplistic arguments, often leaving serious discussions clouded by misinformation.
