This is the moment a burning building came crashing down after a blaze ripped through a fashion outlet loved by sports stars and soap actors.

Part of Marc Darcy’s warehouse in Manchester, where more than 100,000 pieces of stock are housed, crumbled to the floor as firefighters battled the inferno.

The upmarket designer, which has partnered with clubs such as West Ham United and Leicester City, has provided suits for Premier League star Jordan Pickford and Manchester United legend Denis Irwin.

Harry Maguire donned a £320 Marc Darcy three-piece suit when he wed childhood sweetheart Fern Hawkins in 2022.

Made In Chelsea stars Spencer Matthews and Hugo Taylor teamed up six years ago for an exclusive menswear and suit collection.

Video taken by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service station commander Carl Haslam shows the huge blaze and flames engulfing the building last night.

Black smoke billows in the sky as the fire pours out of the windows before the building collapses to the ground.

It is currently not known what sparked the blaze.

Firefighters remain on scene this morning with a stretch of Bury New Road closed to traffic. Residents in the surrounding area have been urged to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at a commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford.

‘Due to the large amount of smoke in the area, residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and avoid the area.

‘Bury New Road remains closed while crews work to extinguish the fire.’

A statement on the Marc Darcy website reads: ‘Important notice. Due to a fire at our premises, we are temporarily unable to accept any new orders.

‘We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and will reopen ordering as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.’

The family-run business was established in 1989 and is owned by Chad Johal. He has previously been pictured with former heavyweight champion Frank Bruno MBE

The firm had a turnover of £11.8 million for the year ending March 31, 2025, according to its latest accounts filed to Companies House.
