Mohammed Salisu may be on the move again, with Real Sociedad expressing interest in the Ghanaian defender.
The club, led by sporting director Erik Bretos, is eyeing Salisu as a possible reinforcement for their backline.
The AS Monaco centre-back, once a standout at Real Valladolid and Southampton, fits the mold of what coach Sergio Francisco wants to add to his squad.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto shared the news with Marca, confirming that Sociedad have asked Monaco about Salisu’s availability.
However, the deal won’t be easy. The player is valued at €12 million, and with Monaco having paid €15 million just two seasons ago, they’re unlikely to let him go cheaply.
Salisu’s recent inactivity adds complexity. He hasn’t played regular football since February. After starting the season strong, a thigh injury sidelined him in October.
His minutes have dwindled since, with only two late substitute appearances after February 1.
He also didn’t feature in Monaco’s most recent preseason match, even as other squad players got minutes.
