Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has called on supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally behind a common vision and rebuild ties with the party’s grassroots base as it looks to the future.

Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates’ Conference held on Saturday, July 19, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, Mr Afenyo-Markin emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and renewed purpose within the party, following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

The conference brought together key party figures from across the country as part of broader efforts to restructure and reposition the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He rejected the notion that the party is in disarray, insisting instead that the NPP remains resilient and battle-tested.

“We must move forward with one voice,” he said. “We are in a season that calls for sober reflection and radical unity. This is a time to rebuild, reconnect with the grassroots, re-engage our base, and present a bold new vision to Ghanaians.

“No individual is bigger than the NPP,” he declared. “That belief must be evident in our language, tone, strategy, and interactions with one another. Internal discord, suspicion, and division have been costly. We made mistakes, but we are not a broken party — we are simply a party that has been tested by battle. We are not a party of despair,” he underscored.

He further called for an end to internal attacks and urged members to embrace the party’s founding values of unity, discipline, and shared commitment.
