The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the ruling John Mahama government to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, on Friday, November 7, 2025, during the presentation of the Business Statement for the coming week in Parliament.

In accordance with the Public Financial Management Act, the Finance Minister, acting on behalf of the President, is required to present the national budget to Parliament no later than November 15 each year.

Here are the 7 demands of FABAG ahead of 2026 budget presentation

Dr Forson’s presentation is expected to outline the government’s revenue and expenditure projections for the 2026 fiscal year, along with key policy measures aimed at stabilising the economy, creating jobs, and sustaining growth.

The 2026 Budget comes at a time when the government faces heightened expectations over economic recovery, fiscal discipline, and the successful implementation of the ongoing International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, which is scheduled to conclude next year.

Following the Finance Minister’s presentation in Parliament, lawmakers are expected to commence debates on the budget, with sectoral discussions to take place in the ensuing weeks before its final approval.
