The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie, has paid a visit to the family of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, following the shocking news of his passing.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, Hon. Gomashie arrived at the residence of the late musician in Accra, accompanied by key figures in the creative arts industry.

Among those present were the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, veteran music promoter Dada Bosco, and other respected figures in the entertainment space.

During a brief interaction with Daddy Lumba’s long-time manager, Roman Dada, the Minister expressed her profound sadness over the loss, revealing that the ministry was in talks with the legendary musician about a potential collaboration just weeks prior to his death.

“This news has truly shaken me…we were planning something with him not long ago, and now this… It’s a great loss to all of us,” she sadly stated.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra. He was 60 years before his sad demise.
