The Mfantseman-Saltpond Development Alliance (MSDA), has launched its first Saltpond homecoming with a call on all natives, particularly youth to unite for sustainable development.

The weeklong homecoming with packed activities will close with a grand durbar on Saturday August 30, 2025 will be held under the theme “Reuniting our Roots, Reimagining the Future”.

Some activities include; heritage tour, clean-up campaigns, youth competitions, fancy dress carnival, food fairs, health screenings, among others.

It aimed at re-building, connecting and rising together as youths with pride and courage for their future and generation unborn.

The SaltpondFest 2025 will be marked with a legacy project of providing a sustainable water system for the Saltpond Municipal Hospital.

According to Founder and President of MSDA, Mr Ernest De-Graft Egyir the Saltpond fest was not just a celebration but a moment to re-unite the people home and diaspora, promote tourism, showcase local business, young talents to leave a legacy for the community.

He said it was imperative to take a step as natives to move their heritage to progress as their history alone would not feed the children, employ youth and their challenges facing them as a community.

MSDA has been formed to empower the people of Mfantseman and Saltpond through cultural celebrations, civic unity, and sustainable development through building a future grounded in identity, led by community and inspired by progress.

The alliance was born from the vision that the future of Mfantseman should be shaped by their own hands which must be grounded by their identity and driven by the belief that could transform the Municipality.
