The Melcom Group of Companies has received high praise from health authorities for its sustained role in supporting blood donation initiatives in Ghana, as the 2025 Blood Donation Exercise officially kicks off on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

At a ceremony organised by the National Blood Service and the Melcom Care Foundation, Sophia Ahiajo, a representative of the National Blood Service, honoured Melcom for consistently supporting blood donation drives over the past decade, bringing together thousands of donors and helping to save countless lives.

“Melcom has gone beyond corporate responsibility to become a symbol of compassion and service,” she said.

She commended the company’s unwavering dedication and significant impact over the years.

“For more than ten years, Melcom has stood by the National Blood Service, not only donating but also encouraging a culture of giving. Their continuous support has made a notable difference in bridging the gap between blood demand and supply,” she added during the launch event.

Through its extensive branch network, Melcom has regularly hosted blood donation exercises and worked closely with health officials to make the process accessible to the public.

Officials also lauded the company for cultivating a spirit of generosity among its staff and customers.

The recognition was part of this year’s campaign launch, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and to strengthen national reserves.

Ahiajo expressed hope that Melcom’s consistent and compassionate example would inspire more businesses to support lifesaving initiatives across the country.
