2025/26 Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC will officially be presented with the league trophy on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, following a special coronation clash against regional rivals Basake Holy Stars at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa.
The Mauve and Yellows secured the league title in emphatic fashion last weekend after thrashing Heart of Lions 5-2 in front of their home supporters to confirm their status as champions with a game to spare.
Initially, there were reports suggesting Medeama wanted their final league fixture away to Accra Hearts of Oak to be moved to Tarkwa so they would receive the trophy and medals in front of their fans.
However, plans have now changed, with the club set to host a separate ceremonial coronation game against Basake Holy Stars to climax their successful campaign.
The upcoming event is expected to attract a huge crowd in Tarkwa as supporters gather to celebrate another historic achievement for the club.
Medeama’s latest triumph marks only the second Ghana Premier League title in the club’s history and their second championship success in just four seasons.
Following their impressive domestic campaign, the Tarkwa-based club will now represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Champions League.
