Medeama SC have reportedly expressed strong interest in signing Young Apostles striker Richmond Opoku as the Ghana Premier League champions continue plans to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The 19-year-old forward enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Young Apostles FC during the 2025/26 season after emerging as one of the best young attackers in the league.

Opoku scored 15 goals in 29 league appearances to finish as the third highest scorer in the Ghana Premier League, attracting attention from several clubs with his impressive performances.

The youngster ended the season in brilliant fashion after scoring both goals in Young Apostles’ crucial 2-0 victory over FC Samartex 1996 to help the club secure survival on the final day.

The Mauve and Yellows are now reportedly monitoring the forward closely as coach Ibrahim Tanko and the club’s management look to reinforce the team ahead of their participation in next season’s CAF Champions League.

The Mauve and Yellows are expected to be active in the transfer market after winning their second Ghana Premier League title in four seasons.

Apart from Richmond Opoku, Medeama have also been linked with Usman Safianu and Etse Dogli as part of their rebuilding plans for the upcoming campaign.

The Tarkwa-based side are determined to build a competitive squad capable of challenging both domestically and on the continental stage next season.
