Asante Kotoko finally ended their four-game winless run after securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Stadium. Goals from Lawson Kyei and Kofi Duah ensured the Porcupine Warriors returned to winning ways.
Heart of Lions also bounced back strongly with an emphatic 3-0 win over FC Samartex at Kpando. Captain Ebenezer Abban, Asante Seedorf Afful and Ishmael Addo all scored in the first half to seal the victory for the Giant Killers.
League leaders Medeama SC maintained their five-point advantage at the top after edging Basake Holy Stars 1-0 away from home. Kingsley Braye scored the decisive goal in the 71st minute to hand the Mauve and Yellow a crucial victory in the title race.
Red-hot midfielder Salim Adams had an opportunity to increase his goal tally from spot-kick but missed out.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak and Aduana FC played out a goalless draw in a competitive encounter. Goalkeepers Benjamin Asare and Prince Osei both impressed to deny either side victory.
Elsewhere, Vision FC defeated Karela United 3-0, while Young Apostles edged Nations FC 1-0. Berekum Chelsea also secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Dreams FC, with Swedru All Blacks and Bechem United sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
