Former Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko is reportedly set to join Medeama as their new head coach.

Reports from Ghanasoccernet suggest that both parties are in advanced talks, with negotiations entering the final stage.

If appointed, the former Accra Lions technical director will replace Bosnian manager Nebojsa Kapor, who was sacked in December 2024.

Ibrahim Tanko left Accra Lions after three years with the club, departing with the team at the bottom of the league as they battle relegation.

The former Borussia Dortmund player has previously managed Ghana’s U-23 team, served as an assistant coach for Cameroon, and worked as an assistant manager for the Black Stars.

Medeama currently sits mid-table after a poor run of form. The Mauve and Yellow, who are winless in their last four games, have amassed 26 points and sit in 7th place.
