Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has narrated a serious disruption during the filming of his upcoming film, ‘The Last African Hero’, which is based on Burkina Faso’s current leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

According to LilWin, the incident occurred on May 29, 2025, while shooting was underway in Kumasi.

He said a group of masked men reportedly stormed the set, causing massive disturbances.

In a video shared on social media, the actor described the moment approximately ten masked individuals arrived on motorbikes, aggressively demanding that filming should stop immediately.

“There was a commotion this evening while we were on set shooting Ibrahim Traoré. About ten men on motorbikes came and told us to stop working. They threatened us, and when I refused to stop, they started scattering everything in the house,” he said.

LilWin further revealed that, prior to this, he had previously received social media threats warning him to halt production.

He also claimed someone had offered him a $20,000 bribe to abandon the project, an offer he declined.

He added that the incident prompted the landlord of the filming location to revoke permission for the crew to continue shooting on the property due to the damage caused.

“When I tried calling the regional minister, they fled. But they had already destroyed much of what we were using. Because of that, the property owner now refuses to let us continue filming there,” LilWin added.

But despite these setbacks, LilWin expressed determination to proceed with the project, saying, “None of them showed their faces during the attack, but thankfully no one was harmed. We will continue with the footage we already have, and even if it’s not perfect, we hope the audience will understand.”

Meanwhile, authorities have not yet issued an official statement, and it remains unclear whether an investigation has been launched into the incident.
