When Holly Schroedter Adams married her husband Andrew, her in-laws embraced her as one of their own.
Gushing social media posts by Andrew’s parents Landis and Gina Adams praised the schoolteacher as a ‘wonderful daughter-in-law’ on her birthday every year.
Her adorable daughter Paxton, now 10, was an ‘Angel from God’ they doted on at every opportunity and were ‘depressed’ when they didn’t see her.
Landis wrote next to a photo of Adams and Paxton on her first day of school: ‘And of course we couldn’t leave out our 10th Grade history teacher and daughter-in-law Holly Schroedter Adams!’
Now the couple are distraught after being blindsided by claims their supposedly perfect daughter-in-law was fooling around with one of her students.
‘We found out this morning on the news… they (Adams and Andrew) haven’t told us anything,’ Gina told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.
‘We’re going through so much, it’s so messy.’
Adams, 41, was accused by police of having ‘inappropriate relationships’ with at least one male student at Angleton High School, about 45 miles south of Houston.

The student sent a video to a classmate of him in a bedroom of Adams’ house with the bed covered in nude photos of her, police alleged in a search warrant affidavit.
Brazoria County Sheriff’s deputies seized four phones, 11 nude photos, and a photo book of naked images during a raid on her home last August.
Adams has not been charged with a sex crime, but was arrested on Tuesday after a grand jury indicted her on two charges of providing alcohol to minors and one of tampering with evidence.
The evidence tampering allegedly occurred two days after the raid on her home. Police would not say what she was accused of tampering with or how.
Gina said she and her husband didn’t know more about the allegations than they saw in local media reports.
‘It’s devastating for us and our family. We weren’t there and we don’t approve and we don’t have anything to do with it,’ she said.
‘I don’t know what was going on in her mind.’
Adams was charged after a yearlong ‘lengthy and intensive investigation, which included conducting a multitude of interviews with both current and former students and examining evidence’, the sheriff’s office said on Tuesday.
Her family is said to have vaguely known about the allegations, but believed it was just a baseless rumor until her arrest.

A search warrant affidavit filed with the court before the raid last year explained that the investigation began after a student told school staff that Adams was having an inappropriate relationship with a former classmate.
The student alleged that the other boy showed him the bed covered in nude photos of Adams during a video call from her house.
He also allegedly sent him a photo of himself and Adams cuddling on a couch.
Adams also invited students to her house to help with chores, investigators wrote in the affidavit.
Charging documents from this week alleged Adams admitted during questioning to speaking to three members of the school baseball team on Snapchat.
Adams, her husband, and her parents did not answer calls from the Daily Mail, and her sister Lori Hannan declined to comment.
The suspected criminal worked as a history teacher at Angleton since 2018 until she was fired last year.
She was certified to teach grade 7 to 12 history, grade 4 to 8 social studies and core subjects, and English as a second language.

Records showed her teaching licenses expired in February 2025 and have not been renewed.
Her record included a note that she was under review by the Texas Education Agency Educator Investigations Division.
Before Adams worked at Angleton, she was director of membership relations at the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County and in customer service at Texas Gulf Bank.
Adams was released on a $26,000 bond on Tuesday and will face court at an unspecified future date.
The investigation is still ongoing but whether she will face additional charges is unclear.
