Ghanaian Afro-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has stated that marriage is costly and involves more than just money.
In an interview on Joy Prime TV, the award-winning musician said marriage comes with several responsibilities that require time, effort, and emotional investment.
He pointed out that while people often focus on the financial side of marriage, the non-financial demands can be just as serious.
“Interestingly, marriage is expensive, and having a wife comes with its own expenses. You have to invest time, which is valuable. You need to allocate resources, which don’t come cheap. You must give attention, and attention is also costly. These are things you can’t buy,” he said.
Stonebwoy noted that he understands the weight of responsibility that comes with being a husband. He shared that his views are shaped by his upbringing and what he saw growing up.
“As a man, I grew up in a household where I witnessed responsibility firsthand. I understand that societal norms require men to take on caretaking roles. While it is expected of us, it’s not easy, and it certainly isn’t cheap. So, the expenses are real,” he added.
